(As of version 1.04.00)

With 'ManualConnections' you can enhance your rig by adding manual connections, such as SetDrivenKeys, direct connections, the addition of math nodes, PoseInterpolator (pose space deformations), and any other complex setups.
Arise will store any manual connections added to the Arise node's Maya elements and reconnect them on rebuild.

How it works:

  1. When you click the 'Save Connection Info' button, the system identifies connections coming in and out of all Maya nodes associated with the parent Arise node. Any connection made to a Maya node that isn't tagged, meaning it doesn't belong to any Arise node, is stored internally.
The saved connection information can be reviewed by pressing the 'Print Stored Info' button.
  2. Before Cleanup, Arise uses the stored information to disconnect its nodes from your setup, preventing automatic deletion of your custom nodes by Maya.
  3. After the parent Arise node is Re-Built, it reconnects them again.

Attributes:

  • 'Save Connections Info' - Stores any custom connections between Maya nodes that don't belong to any Arise node and the Maya nodes belonging to the Arise node this attachment is on.
  • 'Clear Stored Info' - Removes any stored connection information.
  • 'Print Stored Info' - Prints the stored connections information within this attachment.

Notes:

  • Always remember to press 'Save Connections Info' after making changes to your custom nodes or connections before Re-Building or Templating.
  • This attachment only stores connections to Maya nodes that belong to its parent Arise node. It may be necessary to add this attachment to more than one Arise node.

Limitations:

  • Since this attachment stores the names of the connections, your setup might break if you rename the Arise node or use the 'Rename' attachment.
